Leung lab visited collaborating institutes in Asia

07-11-2017

The Leung lab discovers new drugs for retinal degeneration through extensive collaborations in Asia. In May, they visited several key collaborating labs located in the Department of Ophthalmology, Osaka University School of Medicine; the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK); and the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University in China. During these visits, Dr. Leung and Logan Ganzen, a graduate student in the Leung lab, outlined their research vision and presented their latest discoveries to their Asian colleagues. They also participated in the CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre Joint Symposium that was co-organized by Dr. Leung, and attended the International Conference of Vision & Eye Research in Hong Kong. These interactions have strengthened the international connections of Leung lab and facilitated the lab’s effort in discovering new drugs for retinal degeneration.
