K-12 Outreach
Biological Sciences Outreach
Touching the lives of students, science teachers, and communities.
BioMedia Center
In 1990 the BioMedia Center for Instructional Design and its predecessor, the Computer Resource Center, began studying how some of the technical advances that were appearing on the computer could be used in instructional computing.
The College of Science K-12 Outreach program was initiated in 1989 to collaborate with students and teachers to increase interest and achievement in science and mathematics at the pre-college level.
The College of Science at Purdue University, through its chemistry and biological sciences departments, delivers research grade instruments to high schools and middle schools throughout central Indiana. This project provides an opportunity for young students, from all backgrounds, to have hands-on learning experiences with instruments used in research laboratories today. These experiences increase the students' and teachers' skills and understanding of modern scientific technology. Check out our Science Express website for more information.
