Alyssa Gleichsner receives award for her presentation at the Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists

Alyssa Gleichsner, a graduate student in the the laboratory of Dennis Minchella, received the most outstanding presentation award at the 90th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists in Omaha, Nebraska. Her study entitled, "Does the parasite composition alter the outcome of competition?: Life history and virulence consequences of intraspecific parasite co-infection" used molecular tools to track infection dynamics and to test the predictions of kin selection theory in a host-parasite system.
