The BSAAC welcomed a new member for our Spring 2014 meetings. Dr. Pamela Fraker is the Director of the Molecular and Metabolic Disease Program in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Michigan State University. She was also the 2013 Purdue University Biological Sciences Outstanding Alumni Award winner.
Our 2014 BSAAC meetings was action packed. We had a Development Update from College of Science Director of Advancement, Andrea Spahn-McGraw. We welcomed the Director of Bio Media Center for Instructional Computing, Clark Gedney to hear about Outreach Activities in Biological Sciences. Nic Steussy from Cynthia Stauffacher's Lab, Devika Sirohi of Richard Kuhn's Lab, and Katie Molland of Andy Mesecar's Lab all spoke about their current research.
The BSAAC Members spoke to the BIOL 293 students about careers in Biology. Our afternoon session was filled with historical information from Jeff Bolin, Structural Virology at Purdue from Michael Rossmann, and Current Projects of Structural Biology from Andy Mesecar.
The BSAAC looks forward to helping the Biological Sciences faculty and students keep current and look to the future in teaching and research.
