July 2019
Stephanie, Sharleen, and Anupriya attended the 2019 SABER conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota this past July. This was the first SABER conference for Anupriya.
This year, Stephanie gave a talk entitled "Going around the evidence-based design wheel to develop a digital assessment of undergraduate biology students' graphing ability." Authors for this talk also included Elizabeth Suazo-Flores, Joel Abraham, Susan Maruca, and Eli Meir.
Sharleen presented her poster "Biofilms as a Context for Understanding Mechanistic Reasoning by Undergraduates."
Anupriya presented the poster "Characterizing students' graphing practices in pen-and-paper and digital formats" on behalf of Elizabeth Suazo-Flores.

For her promotion talk, Stephanie shared the recent and upcoming research in the Gardner lab. Her seminar "What are they thinking? Understanding and enhancing student learning in Biology" was a big hit!
Stephanie led a workshop for the Purdue undergraduate Women in Science Programs (WISP) titled "Pitch Perfect." Students received expert help in creating/refining their elevator pitches!

Stephanie, Elizabeth, and Sharleen attended the 2018 SABER conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota this past July.
This was the first SABER conference for both Elizabeth and Sharleen (pictured left and right, respectively).
This year, Stephanie gave a talk entitled "Development and Testing of Competencies for Experimentation in Biology." Authors for this talk also included Nancy Pelaez, Dina Newman, Joel Abraham, Christopher Beck, Trevor Anderson, and Yue Yin.
