LearnerX Lab:
Transforming Learning Experiences
Biology Education Research: “By understanding how our students interact with the course materials, we craft engaging and efficient tools that ensure learning is both exciting and impactful.”
From Sparks in Office Hours to LearnerX Lab
My passion for the human body goes beyond its intricate mechanisms. It's about igniting curiosity and fostering a love of science in my students, empowering them to contribute to their own learning journeys and those of their peers. As a Continuing Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University since Fall 2021, I've witnessed the transformative power of engaging learning materials firsthand.
This new lab setting began during office hours in the Spring 2024 semester, where students expressed their desire to be part of the innovative learning materials I was creating. This sparked the idea for LearnerX Lab, a collaborative space where I work alongside undergraduate students to develop impactful learning tools for BIOL 203-204 (Human Anatomy & Physiology). Our vision for LearnerX Lab extends beyond BIOL 203-204. We're open to collaborating with other instructors interested in utilizing and adapting our tools for their specific needs as well as building things together.
On this website, you'll discover a selection of work showcasing my pedagogical approach, including:
- Innovative learning tools developed by the LearnerX Lab team.
- My strategies to foster engagement and deep understanding in BIOL 203-204 and beyond.
- My overall philosophy on crafting impactful learning experiences.
(Note: New materials and reflections are continuously added to showcase our evolving work.)
